Shahidee's Final reflection (i think)
Though the deeper meaning to it and everyone has a different conception of it.
SO saying that i think graciousness is... Is like asking someone if he/she thinks this person is good looking or not.
The answer varies from person to person.
My group has performed great espcially the last minute work video which is the highlight in our group.
This was NO SURPRISE.

Kevin's 2nd Reflection

"There is a need to teach Singaporeans how to be gracious." Do you agree?
Many people know that the concept of being gracious is to show kindness, be benevolent and courteous. However, despite this knowledge, not many Singaporeans demonstrate such manners. This is why I feel that Singaporeans need to be taught how to inculcate such behaviour in their daily lives. I believe that this is the reason why it is important to teach Singaporeans how to be gracious.

Dharma's first reflections
I think that graciousness or being gracious is being considerate and respecting others. That to me is its definition.
What are gracious acts?
Gracious acts are simple things like opening the lift door for someone who is going in or out, clearing walkways of obstacles to allow people to walk through (home) and stop pretending to sleep when one is on public transports.
Singaporeans = gracious people ?
I doubt so though there are many campaigns like the kindness campaigns and so on. There are still singaporeans who are ungracious. Its more towards Singaporeans mindset they always think " by doing this will it benefit me? " if it doesnt he/she might not do it.

Graciousness
To me, being gracious is actually to be pleasantly kind, benevolent and courteous to people around us. Graciousness is defined as behaviour of being kind, polite and generous espacially to people who are socially inferior. Like what Joshua said, graciousness is something that needs to be cultivated in Singapore. In order for that to happen, Singaporean parents must teach their children what is graciousnessand how to be gracious. As parents are like the role models of their child, if the parents were to be ungracious, the child will be influenced by their parentsand thus being ungracious as well. As a matter of fact, being gracious is as easy as ABC. Saying "thank you" when someone helped you or saying "excuse me" when as an apology when one interupts are some examples of being gracious. These few sentences are in the minds of each individual but most people in Singapore just refuse to say it out. So if one wants to be gracious, he or she can start by saying "thank you" or "excuse me".

Graciousness.
What is graciousnese ?
Well , according to Merriam Webster Dictionary, graciousness is defined as being marked by kindness and courtesy. Then just why is it so hard to be gracious? After brainstorming on a few reasons, I concluded that it is only appropriate that the cause of this ungracious behaviour is the hustle and bustle of this of the fast pace world. Then, if that's the case, who is to blame???
In my opinion it is us who are to be blamed. We have choices. Why not take the choice to be gracious no matter what the circumstances. If all of us are gracious, we will be able to co-operate better.

Joshua's Reflection on Graciousness
Graciousness itsellf is the art of repecting others, doing the right thing at the right time and showing good manners.
Even things like thanking a person who opens the door of a lift for you is considered graciousness.
However the problem with it is that most siongaporeans only care for themselves and are thus not that gracious.
This in turn can affect us in the future as tourists may think that singaporeans are ungracious and thus not visit the country and this will affect our economy.

View on the concept of Graciousness
Unfortunately, Singaporeans are not gracious.
Why some may ask, lets take the "phua chu kang" video for instance what is the message that "he" , the government and SMRT is trying to show.
The video is almost the same as begging someone to do something for you and that is not how graciousness works in society. Graciousness should be automatic or instilled into every young child that is born.
The video also shows another point, that is being considerate is also another thing that should be automatic like standing right in front of the bus or MRT exit , therefore, blocking anyone who is trying to get out of the bus or MRT.
I conclude my reflection by saying that graciousness has to be instilled into young Singaporeans for better time to come as the newer generations take over.
